Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to share with you the short-list for the Ubuntu Karmic Koala Wallpaper’s Competition.
We had so many fantastic entries and so little space on the final CD. At last count, 19 fabulous wallpapers made it onto the final image!
I can’t thank everyone enough for their fantastic contributions. I wish there had been space for more and maybe, with a little help and some technical cleverness we can make it easier for people to select directly from the pool; good idea?
Below are the images that made it into the final selection. If your favourite isn’t on the CD it will be made available as a separate package!
Now, what shall we do for Lucid?
*until Ubuntu 10.04, of course!
I think its a good idea how the wallpapers of a Macintosh are split up in like, three topics (sections).
Maybe that would be a thing to implement for lucid; One section for abstract wallies, one for semi-abstract stuff like sand dunes or water or the sky, and one for pure photography.
🙂
Yes. That is certainly something to consider.
[…] Congratulations and thanks to everyone whose backdrops we chose to include in Ubuntu 9.10. http://www.ivanka.blog/?p=209 […]
I would love to see the default Ubuntu wallpaper expand over two/three/four desktops (or monitors).
I suggest that the wallpaper included default in Ubuntu should come in four versions – one for each desktop (or monitor). So if you don’t have, or use, more than one desktop, your wallpaper will look as it does now – just fine using wallpaper #1. But if you use more than one desktop the wallpaper will expand and view different wallpapers on each desktop.
You can see a mockup here: http://anotherubuntu.blogspot.com/2008/11/expand-wallpaper-for-multiple-desktops.html
Best regards
